Dream Manipulation

Dream is the art built on sleep and flesh: a whisper that puts people to sleep up close, a turret of flesh, a grab, a barrage of tendrils, and a monster to finish. The game shortens it to Dream on the skill tree tab and on its mastery bar.

It is cast from bare fists, and its last move comes from Enru, The Dream Demon, down in Dreamfall Hollow.

The five moves

  • ZMelodic WhisperMastery — · Points 3Reportedly a hold move. From range it splits into three drifting projectiles, and the last one slows. Up close it goes straight into the target and drops them into a stunning sleep. One player found that tapping it does nothing.
  • XOrdained FleshMastery ? · Points ?Plants a living flesh growth that keeps firing thin flesh toward your cursor. Tap again to pour the charge into one detonation. Name from the developer's pre-release preview. One player calls it the turret and says it does not pull NPC aggro.
  • CPiercing FleshMastery ? · Points ?A tentacle bursts from the ground at the cursor. On a hit it wraps the target, squeezes and throws them; on a miss it lashes out and snaps back. Name from the developer's pre-release preview.
  • VFlesh BarrageMastery 40 · Points 12A flurry of flesh tendrils erupts around each burst of Dream resonance and strikes the whole area.
  • BFlesh MonsterMastery 53 · Points ?The target becomes the source of a wisp burst that ticks damage and slows anyone near. Press again and the monster attacks, cycling a ground slam, a sweep and a two-fisted finisher.

A question mark marks a number still unknown for this art. On Cryokinesis, where the whole tree is known, the moves ask for mastery 14, 27, 40 and 53 and cost 3, 6, 9 and 12 points. The V0.182 update raised Melodic Whisper's damage by 20% against NPCs and bosses, and Ordained Flesh's damage scaling by the same against them. How mastery fills is on the mastery page; the fastest ways to raise it are on mastery farming.

Unlocking Dream Manipulation

  1. Get the Dream Orb

    Roll at Muzan (how the roll works) or pull it from a chest (orb drop rates).

  2. Crush it and finish the core training

    1. 1. Meditate
    2. 2. Cup Training
    3. 3. Aim Training
    4. 4. Defeat Mizunotos

    The Dream tracker in an early recording asked for two Mizunotos, where the other arts ask for five. Each step opens only when the one before is done; the reward is 900 Exp, 405 Wen and the art itself.

  3. Buy the moves in the skill tree

    Training unlocks the art, not its first move. Open the Dream Manipulation branch, spend skill points on Melodic Whisper, then raise Dream Mastery for the rest.

  4. Beat Enru for Flesh Monster

    Enru stands in Dreamfall Hollow, reportedly reached from the level 62 area at the bottom of Mistfall Harbor, past a crowd of hostile demons. The recording shows him fought in daylight. His launch bar lists his top and bottom at 5% each alongside Flesh Monster. Jugg, the Slayer quest giver for levels 62 to 75, stands at the mouth of Dreamfall Hollow; see the map page.

The Combat item card spells out why fists work: bare fists are the starting stance, and most demons cast their Blood Art through them when no weapon is drawn. Every art and style against every weapon is on the weapon compatibility page.

What players ask about Dream Manipulation

Does Dream have a boss for its last move?
Yes. Enru, The Dream Demon, drops Flesh Monster, 5% on his launch bar. The v.09 note says boss skill rates went up, but no newer Enru bar has been seen.
Why does Melodic Whisper do nothing?
One player found it does nothing on a tap and works when held. The whisper also changes with distance: three slow projectiles at range, an instant sleep up close.
Can Flesh Barrage be moved?
Nobody has shown it moving after it lands. Treat it as a zone and fight inside it.
Is Dream worth rolling for?
All three published tier lists put it at A, the steadiest spread of any art after Shockwave. It went untouched through the early balance passes, which some players read as underrated, and V0.182 then gave two of its moves 20% more damage against NPCs and bosses.
