Betty’s gemstone

Betty dropped her favourite gemstone into the river below her, and the gem is exactly where she says: underwater. Jump in, follow the river toward the red bridge and dive; it is a blue crystal on the riverbed.

Finding it

  1. Betty is just above the Bamboo Grove label on the minimap, with Tom, the bear-quest giver, close by to the west. Take the quest; the tracker shows Gemstone found 0/1.
  2. Drop down off her ledge into the river and follow it toward the red bridge and torii gate.
  3. Then dive to the riverbed. The gem lies on the riverbed against a dark rock slab, and the prompt reads Gemstone Pick Up. On the minimap you are just under the Bamboo Grove Sanctuary label.
  4. Picking it up finishes the quest; you do not need to swim back to Betty.

If the gem is not there

  • Some players report the gem is not where others found it, and a pink crystal has also been seen underwater instead of the blue one, so it may not always sit in the same place. Search the riverbed around the rock slab.
  • The gem is on the bottom, so you have to dive down to reach it.
