Ice Manipulation

The developer titles it Ice Manipulation; everywhere in the game it is Cryokinesis: the orb, the tree, the mastery bar. It rains icicles, counters with an ice clone, slices at range, grabs up close, and ends with a giant ice buddha.

It is the one art whose whole tree has been read on screen, so every gate below is exact: 14, 27, 40 and 53 mastery, and 3, 6, 9 and 12 skill points. The tree ends after Bodhisattva: five moves, no sixth.

The five moves

  • ZWintry IciclesMastery — · Points 3Mark a zone where razor icicles rain down. Press again to detonate the ice under the target for a burst of spikes.
  • XCold White PrincessesMastery 14 · Points 6Take a stance. A target in range gets teleported behind, an ice clone and two lotus figures hold them, and they freeze solid. Doubles as a counter if you are struck while it is starting up.
  • CBarren Hanging GardenMastery 27 · Points 9At range, leap back and fire a spiralling ice projectile that cuts a line and bursts. Up close, a blur of arms leaves a delayed flurry of ice slashes.
  • VFreezing CloudMastery 40 · Points 12Up close, vanish in icy wind, grab the target and slam them down. At range, release the key and a frost clone stomps a jagged wave of ice forward.
  • BBodhisattvaMastery 53 · Points ?Summon a massive ice buddha that sheds its shell, blows a freezing gust and slams the ground to send exploding ice spikes forward. Also needs a Domae kill.

A question mark marks a number still unknown for this art. On Cryokinesis, where the whole tree is known, the moves ask for mastery 14, 27, 40 and 53 and cost 3, 6, 9 and 12 points. How mastery fills is on the mastery page; the fastest ways to raise it are on mastery farming.

Unlocking Ice Manipulation

  1. Get the Cryokinesis Orb

    Roll at Muzan (how the roll works) or pull it from a chest (orb drop rates).

  2. Crush it and finish the core training

    1. 1. Meditate
    2. 2. Boulder Split
    3. 3. Underwater Rocks (5)
    4. 4. Defeat Mizunotos (5)

  3. Buy the moves in the skill tree

    Training unlocks the art, not its first move. Open the Ice Manipulation branch, spend skill points on Wintry Icicles, then raise Cryokinesis Mastery for the rest.

  4. Beat Domae for Bodhisattva

    Domae, The Cryokinetic Demon, was fought at night by Iceveil Settlement in one recording. His bar now shows Bodhisattva x1 (10%), and 40% under 4x Luck, next to the Black Lotus Crown, his top and bottom at 5% each, and War Fans at 7%: one of the weapons that carries the art.

What players ask about Ice Manipulation

How many moves does Ice have?
Five. The tree runs Wintry Icicles, Cold White Princesses, Barren Hanging Garden, Freezing Cloud, Bodhisattva and stops. A list with six moves is wrong.
I rolled Ice and the orb vanished when I changed server. Why?
Players report orbs from a roll or a chest disappearing on rejoin. Crush the orb in the same session you get it.
Ice or Shockwave?
Ice is S at Beebom and Destructoid and A at Pro Game Guides; Shockwave is S at all three. Ice controls space from range; Shockwave wins close up on fists.
