A weapon’s three tiers

The Nightfall Katana is the one weapon with all three steps on screen. Each step keeps your refinement level (a +9 stays +9) and asks for the same drawing again without using it up.

1. T1

   1,000,000 Wen

2. T2

All the way to T3: 3,250,000 Wen, 1,750 Metal Scraps, 1,750 Silk Thread, 18 Forged Ingot and 18 Reinforced Plating, on top of the Mythic weapon. The T3 step has changed once: an earlier recording by Corgi asked for 15 each of three materials at the same price. That fits the developer’s V0.98 notes, which cut the cost of upgrading both sets to higher tiers and refunded materials to players who had already upgraded.

Armour, and the six set materials

All four Nightfall pieces (Mask, Cape, Top, Bottom) share one first-tier recipe: the piece’s drawing, five Forged Ingot and five Reinforced Plating, some Weaver’s Cloth (its count is hidden in every recording), 1,000 Metal Scraps, 1,000 Silk Thread and 1,000,000 Wen. The Firstlight Mask shows five of each Firstlight material. games.gg and Sportsrant print the Nightfall Mask at 500,000 Wen with 1,000 Ore; the recipe window says otherwise.

Togane’s Swap materials trades any of the six for any other, one for one, so a surplus of one set feeds the other. Only one of their cards has been filmed: the Firstlight Forged Ingot’s says 5% from an Ouwigahara Chest and 2% from a World Events Chest (see the Ouwigahara page).

Where the Nightfall drawings are

The seven weapon drawings are listed on the weapons page. The Lost Cape comes from The Lost Slayer in Final Selection (0.9% from his chest) and can also be fished up. Hatsu takes a Lost Cape for the Nightfall Cape drawing, and Omi a Lost Outfit for the Firstlight Haori.

When Retsu or the dock master will not talk

The War Fans lead is a chain about a woman with bandaged hands, and each person only mentions her once the one before has. Start with Shiori at Butterfly Estate (finish one of her quests first), then Dock Master Sofen, then Old Trapper Retsu at the Iceveil entrance, then Winter Store Rep Lynx in the settlement.

Retsu’s lantern branch answers Ask me after dark. by day, so come back at night, and take off any lantern you are wearing: Builderboy TV’s on-screen note says a worn lantern hides that line. If the mound you dig gives nothing, EXtraCALIBUR suggests a fresh server.

What the pieces give

A tier 3 Firstlight Katana carries the passive Daybreak Guard: Blocking a hit heals you and bites the attacker, once a second at most. The cards below are the ones on record. Set bonuses for wearing the Top and Bottom at tier 3 are described only by Nerdschalk, so they are left out here, as are its other V0.18 numbers.

The Mushroom Lit Lantern is what the blue-mushroom puzzle in Kuzan’s cave gives, on the way to the Firstlight Tanto. Some Reddit guesses tie it to the Everburn Lantern, but that is a different lantern and nobody has shown how to get it yet.
