Reaper

Reaper is all speed: a spinning dash, a knock-down you ride like a surfboard, afterimages, zigzag dashes and a blue streak that ends in a cutscene. It is an Evil Art like the others; the scythe fighting style with a similar name is Reaping Blades, a separate thing.

Its first and last moves are confirmed in the live tree. The three between come from the developer's early preview, so their names and keys may still differ.

The five moves

  • ZReap Of DespairMastery — · Points 3On the ground, dash in with a spinning assault that ends in a slam. In the air, two quick full-circle slashes.
  • XReaptideMastery ? · Points ?Leap and come down with a punch; a hit knocks the target down and you ride them like a surfboard. Name from the developer's preview.
  • CSonidoMastery ? · Points ?Dash in several directions at speed, leaving afterimages that hit the target at every crossing. Name and key from the preview's order.
  • VPhantom StepMastery ? · Points ?A rapid zigzag of dashes ending in a stab that knocks the target away. Tapped, it is a plain dash forward. Name and key from the preview's order.
  • BSonido SurgeMastery 53 · Points ?A streak of blue light; on a hit a cutscene blitzes the target into the ground and ends in a dropkick. Also needs a Reaper boss kill.

A question mark marks a number still unknown for this art. On Cryokinesis, where the whole tree is known, the moves ask for mastery 14, 27, 40 and 53 and cost 3, 6, 9 and 12 points. How mastery fills is on the mastery page; the fastest ways to raise it are on mastery farming.

Unlocking Reaper

  1. Get the Reaper Orb

    Roll at Muzan (how the roll works) or pull it from a chest (orb drop rates).

  2. Crush it and finish the core training

    1. 1. Cup Training
    2. 2. Aim Training
    3. 3. Boulder Split
    4. 4. Defeat Mizunotos (5)

  3. Buy the moves in the skill tree

    Training unlocks the art, not its first move. Open the Reaper branch, spend skill points on Reap Of Despair, then raise Reaper Mastery for the rest.

  4. Beat Reaper for Sonido Surge

    The boss is also called Reaper, titled Sonic Reaper Demon, and only fights at night; he has been seen in Bamboo Grove. Solo his bar shows 3,000 health, a World Events Chest, Reaper's Outfit at 3% and Sonido Surge at 5%. With two players on him it read 4,000, so his health seems to grow with the group. One player had both drops within about ten fights.

What players ask about Reaper

I unlocked Reaper but can't use Reap Of Despair. Why?
Two things: buy the move in the tree after the core training, then hold fists, Claws or the Gauntlet. Sickles do not carry it.
Is the Reaper art the same as Reaping Blades?
No. Reaping Blades is a fighting style with its own trainer; this is the Evil Art from a Reaper Orb.
Where is the Reaper boss?
At night, in Bamboo Grove in the recordings; by day his spot only says to come back at night. The bosses page lists every night boss.
