The Blood Sickle Demon

Gyutai (Gyutaro)

Gyutai is the boss most demons come looking for early: he carries the Blood Sickles that the Blood Manipulation art needs, and the art's last move. He shares a cave behind a waterfall with Datai, right next to the starting village.

He fights by day and by night, so you can farm him whenever you like.

The waterfall cave by Windy Peak

A cave behind waterfalls just east of Windy Peak, the starting village. The map shows his and Datai's names side by side there.

  1. Teleport to the Windy Peak shrine.
  2. Head east, past a red torii and a stone wall with a lamp post.
  3. Walk through the white waterfall curtains; the cave behind them is marked In safe zone on the way in.
  4. Gyutai and Datai stand close together inside.

The Circular Slashes line is Blood Manipulation's last move; it reads Missing Blood Manipulation until you own the art. Any Sickles carry the art, so if the 7% Blood Sickles take too long, Hoyuzo's plain Sickles work too.

Farming him with Datai

  • He has the standard 3,000 health for a demon boss; with more players hitting him his health goes up, reportedly to 4,000 with two.
  • If you leave a boss alone for half a minute it reportedly heals back, so finish him in one go.
  • Datai is a few steps away, so a pair of players can clear both in one trip.

Blood Sickles questions

I have Blood Manipulation but no Sickles. Does it matter?
Yes. The art only works with Sickles in hand; see Blood Manipulation.
I killed him 30 times without Blood Sickles.
At 7% about one player in nine goes 30 kills without them. Hoyuzo's Sickles at 7% are the other road.
