How to get Water Breathing in Slayers 2

Urokodaki waits in a room near Bamboo Grove that you reach by swimming through a flooded passage, and the way in is next to a bush you could easily walk past. The route below follows revolver agz’s run step by step, with a frame for the landmarks.

The way in

  1. Step 1 · 14:41

    Head into Bamboo Grove

    The area label goes from Wilderness to Bamboo Grove. At night you may pass the health bar of Sumari, a boss that only fights after dark; it is not part of this route.

  2. Step 2 · 15:14

    Cross the red bridge towards the house

    The narrator says to run in the direction of the house. A red bridge and gate lead straight to it.

    Find the big bush

    By the house, the narrator points at a large bush and says that is where you need to be. Beyond it, the passage is under water.

    Go first person and swim

    His tip: switch to first-person view so you can see the passage, then swim through. Breath bubbles appear over your character while you are under. Keep moving; both the narrator and Pro Game Guides warn that you can drown if you are slow.

    Climb out into the room

    You surface at a ledge with a Wall Climb prompt and come up into a wooden room with shelves. Urokodaki is inside: the frame at the top of this page is that room.

The creator starts from the starting village and admits he should have started from the bear area. Pro Game Guides describes the same spot as a water-filled opening below a cliff, near a small island house. Its beginner guide puts the trainer inside a building by the waterfall past Bamboo Grove Sanctuary, reached by swimming under the entrance.

What Urokodaki charges

Pro Game Guides adds them; the card shows Wen and level only. Farm Demon Horns before the swim if you want to be sure of one trip.

No skill-tree unlock is listed, though a Wall Climb prompt comes up as you leave the water.

Urokodaki or Rokuaki?

The prompt over him reads Water Trainer Urokodaki, and it reads the same in XenoTy’s beginner guide video, recorded by a Water user (15:24). Pro Game Guides’ trainer page agrees. Its separate beginner guide calls him Rokuaki; that is the one outlier.

Training, and Sabito

Paying starts a training quest. Water’s steps have not been shown on screen; the route video’s narrator only says each style’s quest differs and ends by beating a trainee.

Water is the one style whose trainee has a name on screen: Water Trainee Sabito, a 600-health mini boss with a marker at Bamboo Grove Sanctuary on the world map. Whether he is the fight at the end of Water training has not been recorded, but he is worth knowing either way: his bar lists Ghost Attendant Outfit at 2% and Scarred Warding Mask at 2%, and tana’s narrator says he respawns in about two minutes. Demons of level 45 and up can also be sent after him by Muzan.

The Water boss is Giyen

Unlike Thunder, Flame, Sound and Serpent, Water’s world boss does not share the trainer’s name. It is The Water Hashira Giyen (Giyu in the anime), one of several bosses tana’s narrator finds in Bamboo Grove.

Buffed, then trimmed

Water has moved twice since launch, once in each direction.

  1. The v.09 patch: a buff

    The developer’s Discord note lists Buffed Water Breathing in the same post that slowed Thunder, without details. Deepshaken, reading it out, admits he does not know how good Water is now.

  2. Destructoid’s read on the buffed kit

    Destructoid’s tier list describes Water’s X as faster, stunning and usable while you are stunned, so you can break out of a combo and start your own. It says Water Wheel now stuns too, lost its hyper armour, and that Water gained i-frames on its moves.

  3. V0.145: Whirl Pool nerfed

    Pro Game Guides reports a nerf to Whirl Pool that trims its use while stunned, with the exact values still unknown. It still rates Water Wheel, Basin and Surface Slash highly.

Tier lists after the buff

Destructoid and Pro Game Guides put Water in S, and Pro Game Guides calls it its overall Breathing pick even after the Whirl Pool nerf. Beebom has it in A. Those are the outlets’ views; compare all eight styles in the tier list comparison.
