The sun immunity hat, and how demons survive the day
A demon out in daylight burns. The cheap fix is the Black Amigasa: Elara sells it at Mistfall Harbor for 10,000 Wen, once you have run an errand for a farmer in Windy Peak. Put it on and the burning stops. Four rarer hats and the Kamado clan do the same job.
What the sun does
Fire covers the body, the screen edges flash red, and health drops in steps. In Builderboy TV’s recording a level 119 demon goes 583, 573 and down to 553 out of 657: 10 health about once a second. No warning text comes up.
At that pace a full bar of 657 would last roughly 66 seconds. It is one recording, and nobody has shown whether the step grows with a bigger health bar.
KNULL notes that slayers do not burn. Gamepur and Sportsrant say staying indoors or under cover keeps you safe, and in early access Balboabtw said a hatless demon had to farm in caves; no recording we found shows the burning stop in shade, so the hat is the sure thing.

Deliver it to Elara at Mistfall Harbor
Her clothing shop is by the harbour. Walk in without the package and she refuses to deal with you, then names the farmer, so either order works. After the delivery she lets you browse.

Buy it for 10,000 Wen and equip it
The hat sits on a dummy in her shop. Owning it is not enough; equip it. The card offers
Equip StatsandEquip Vanity, and nobody has shown whether Vanity works, so use Equip Stats to be safe.

A Restock timer floats over the shop. Two creators and Sportsrant say the stock turns over every hour. Whether the hat can drop out of stock is disputed: clr warns it is not guaranteed, Solidz says she always has it on sale, and every recording we read shows it there.
The card lists one stat, Sun Immunity, so it costs you the head slot a stat hat would use. The quest givers on the levelling route pay Wen as you go; the other hats below give stats as well.

Not the Heavenly Crown
One guide lists the Heavenly Crown as sun protection. Its card has 1.15x Health Regen, +150 Max Health, +80 Max Stamina and no Sun Immunity line. It is a strong stat hat from the Black Marketer, but it will not stop the burning.

The Kamado clan: no hat needed
Kamado is a Supreme clan, the 0.1% tier, and its Adaptive Breathing passive ends with Also grants Sun Immunity. A Kamado demon can leave the head slot for a stat hat. It is a long shot to roll; buying a Supreme outright is covered on the spins page, and every clan’s odds are on the clans page.

How long the day lasts
There is no clock on screen, and no recording we found times a full cycle since release. The only figure is from Balboabtw in early access: about fifteen minutes of night and fifteen of day, with the day at least ten. Night is when a demon gets things done anyway: Muzan, the horned demons that drop Beast Cores and the night-only bosses all come out after dark.
Inside the Ouwigahara dungeon the sun is not a problem, Ashira RBX says, which makes it one of the few daytime jobs a hatless demon can do.
