Slayers 2 Demon Horns: where to farm them

Plenty of ordinary demons drop them. The game’s Archives screen lists 6 enemies, every one at 50%, and a boss called Hoyuzo drops 3 at a time. The farm three videos use is a cave full of weak demons near the Mother Bear.

What drops them

  1. Blood Hounded Demon50%
  2. Greater Demon50%
  3. High Demon50%
  4. Hoyuzo50% ×3
  5. Hoyuzo Subordinate50%
  6. Lesser Demon50%

At 50%, a horn takes two kills on average. Hoyuzo averages 1.5 horns a kill, three times a normal demon.

The cave by the Mother Bear

  1. Head for the Mother Bear in the bear area, the same stretch you cross for Tom’s bear quest. XenoTy’s narrator puts the best horn spot right under where she stands.
  2. Drop down to the cave by the waterfall below. Paradox’s narrator describes the same thing: a cave underneath the waterfall by that platform.
  3. Fight the demons inside. XenoTy’s narrator says they spawn about six at a time and suggests two or three players. In the trainer-route video the enemy is labelled Hoyuzo Subordinate, and the horn drops right after.
  4. Expect company. The trainer-route creator warns that other players in public servers get in the way here.

Hoyuzo and the level 40 quest

Hoyuzo, The Sickle Reaper, is the boss of the same demons. His bar shows 1,445 health, a Rare Chest, and Demon Horns x3 (50%). He also drops Sickles at 3% (marked Lvl. 52) and a 10% skill, Scyther Vortex, struck through until you own Sickles. XenoTy’s narrator says to bring three people for him.

There is a quest on these demons too. An NPC named Wagwan stands by the waterfall with Clear Hoyuzo’s Guard, four guards to defeat, for 720 experience and 324 Wen. Paradox’s narrator says it opens at level 40, so he waits until then and collects horns and the quest reward from the same kills.

The other bosses and their drop lists are on the bosses page.

How many horns each trainer wants

Longest bar first. Amber bars rest on one source or on sources that disagree; the note under each says which.

  • Wind · Saneri50 horns, about 100 kills · two sources agree

Pro Game Guides and the video creator; the fan wiki also writes 50 with question marks.

  • Water · Urokodaki30 horns, about 60 kills · sources disagree

Pro Game Guides lists 30 Demon Horns on top of the Wen; the video creator lists Wen only.

  • Serpent · Obari20 horns, about 40 kills · sources disagree

Pro Game Guides lists 20 Demon Horns; the creator's requirement card in the trainer-route video lists none.

  • Insect · Shinora15 horns, about 30 kills · one source only

Only the fan wiki gives numbers; Pro Game Guides lists the cost as TBA and the video creator wrote interact to find out.

  • Flame · Rengu10 horns, about 20 kills · one source only

Pro Game Guides only; the video creator wrote interact to find out.

  • Thunder · Zentaro10 horns, about 20 kills · two sources agree
  • Sound · Tengai10 horns, about 20 kills · two sources agree
  • Stone · Gyoreino horns listed · two sources agree

Two more disagreements come from Paradox’s narrator: he says Wind costs 30 horns, against the 50 two other sources list, and that Sound takes Beast Cores rather than horns. Stone asks for cores and no horns; the Beast Cores page has a tally that adds horns and cores together for any set of styles.

Other things that cost horns

The Archives text says trainers and alchemists trade in them. Two uses beyond breathing trainers have been mentioned, each by one source:

  • An item sold at the dungeon entrance. In syoct’s endgame video the narrator says it costs Wen plus Demon Horns, 25 of them for one quest.
  • A potion for the Tai Chi trainee fight. The fan wiki’s Tai Chi page says it costs 6 Demon Horns at the docks. Several pages on that wiki have been vandalised, so check it in game.

The level 40 quest is one stop on a longer route; levelling to 225 shows where the horn cave fits among the other level bands.
